With new restaurants opening up the whole day and the delivery service in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai McDonald’s is raising its popularity in China. But because of their addiction to Western brands a lot of the Chinese kids are getting fat… Anyway, it’s quite comfortable to let them deliver fast food sometimes. The prices of meals in China are amazingly cheap compared to western prices.
So now I’ll tell you how to order food with the delivery service!
Step 1 – Call the delivery service number
Call their delivery hotline number from any home phone or mobile phone. The number is: 4008-517-517
Step 2 – switching to English service
When you call the service number a Chinese person will answer! Don’t worry. Just press ’2′ and you’ll get Englisch service. After that someone should talk in English. Now, you can check if the area that you are in offers the 24hr delivery service.
Step 3 – Address registration
The next thing you need to do is register your address so they can deliver the food ;). That’s quite easy! You just have tell the person on the phone where they shall deliver the food to and your phone number. After they have registered your address they’ll confirm where you live, and that there is a restaurant near you.
Step 4 – Time to order
So now you are ready to order! Everything that you usually order at McDonald’s is available. The first time that you order they’ll bring you a menu too – so you know more about the products on offer. Dont’ forget to tell them about any sauces you want (ketchup, bbq etc) and they’ll pack them too.
Step 5 – Price confirmation
They’ll sum up the prices to you. Even if you interrupt them they’ll keep going, so just stay quiet and wait. Eventually they’ll finish, tell you the total price and the delivery charge and then send your stuff.
Step 6 – Let’s feast!
The food usually arrives within 30 minutes, though they say 45 minutes just to make sure that you’re not disappointed with the service!
